Biography

Elisa Reuter graduated with a Diploma of Public Administration and Police Science from the University of Applied Science in Hessen/ Germany in 2005. She started building her career in the National German Police in Hessen thereafter, working in the fields of Immediate Response, Crime Scene Investigation, Operative Surveillance, Undercover, Patrol and K9.

 

Elisa Reuter has also mentored Bachelor Students at the University of Applied Science Hessen, supervising their bachelor thesis research in 2013.

 

In 2014 she completed a Masters of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, Governance and Police Science at Ruhr University Bochum and University of Ghent. Her Master Thesis consisted of a case study of an anti-poaching initiative in a private nature reserve in South Africa. She is currently working on the publication of her thesis. She presented her research in July 2014 at the ESRC Green Criminology Conference in London, UK.

 

Elisa Reuter will continue her research through pursuing a PhD in Public Administration and Management at Ghent University. Her research focus will be the governance and countering of transnational environmental crimes, especially wildlife crimes and poaching in sub-Sahara Africa.
