Biografie

Eva Dinchel, (M.A.), LL.M.) holds a Magister Artium degree (M.A.) in Sociology from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nueremberg and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Crime and Justice from the University of Torino/ United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute.

 

Apart from her studies in Germany, Australia and Italy, she spent one year as a Visiting Researcher at the Crime and Justice Research Centre in New Zealand, where she worked on the protection of Human Rights for prisoners. As a Research Associate for the University of Parma she worked for the FIDUCIA research project and gained practical experience with academic report writing for the European Commission.

 

From 2014 -2016, she was a program coordinator and lecturer for the Master's program in Criminal Justice, Governance and Police Science at the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany.

 

Financed by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), Eva started her PhD in Public Administration and Management in August 2016 where she joined the research group ‘Governing and Policing Security’ (GaPS) at the Faculty of Economics. In her PhD she will conduct a comparative study on the role of private security providers within security networks in ports. Her thesis will be supervised by Prof. Marleen Easton (Gent University), Prof. Phillip Stenning (Griffith University), and Prof. Clifford Shearing (University of Cape Town).
